Our mission is to help our members develop into Human Resource Management professionals equipped for a successful career in the human resources field by promoting personal, professional, and leadership development. Our Chapter focuses on membership engagement through networking opportunities, affiliation with DallasHR, Texas SHRM, and SHRM National, and participation in community outreach events.

SHRM National Affiliate
The Society for Human Resources Management at UTD is a proud affiliate of SHRM National. As an affiliated student chapter, SHRM at UT Dallas has access to a national network of student chapters, assistance, billing autonomy, are distinguished as being apart of the world's largest HR Association, provided chapter supplies, and experience the "real world" of HR, while participating in the student chapter merit award program, leadership development opportunities, and networking opportunities.
SHRM at UT Dallas members Nickole Selensky, Shriya Bahri, Yen Dang, and Emma Riley won first place at the 2019 Texas SHRM Student Games. Competing against ten other Texas SHRM Student Chapters, this four-person team advanced through three rounds of head-to-head Jeopardy-style questions from the SHRM-CP Certification exam.
For three years, The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has recognized SHRM at UT Dallas with the Superior Merit Award for Student Chapters. The SHRM student chapter merit award program, which began in 1972, was created to encourage student chapters to provide superior growth and development opportunities to their student chapter members.
The SHRM at UT Dallas Student Chapter Bylaws provides an overview of the organizations name, chapter objectives, chapter membership, chapter leadership, officer responsibilities, officer elections, statement of ethics, amendments, chapter dissolution, and withdrawal of affiliated chapter status.
